There’s something magical happening across Kenyan cities — a new rhythm on the roads, a new energy in the air, and it’s being powered by pedals.
Welcome to the Hell’s Gate Biking Fest Urban Tour — a bold cycling movement that’s turning city streets into playgrounds of wellness, road safety, and community fun. What started as a dream to get Kenyans on two wheels in preparation for the main event at Hell’s Gate National Park in August has now become one of the most exciting pre-festival campaigns on the calendar.
Our urban tour series kicked off spectacularly in Eldoret. On February 24th, over 250 cyclists took to the streets of the “City of Champions” for the very first edition of the Urban Tour. The air buzzed with excitement as riders of all ages and skill levels came together, pedaling through Eldoret. It was more than just a ride; it was a vibrant display of passion for cycling and a testament to the thriving biking culture in the region. The smiles were infectious, the camaraderie undeniable, and it set the perfect tone for what was to come.
Fresh off the Eldoret success, we rolled into Nakuru on April 20th for the much-anticipated Nakuru Easter Ride & Vibe. And Nakuru did not disappoint! We were thrilled to welcome the participation of 400+ cyclists, nearly doubling our Eldoret turnout! Starting from the heart of the city to the scenic Lake Nakuru National Park main gate, the ride merged nature with urban life in the most beautiful way. The energy in Nakuru was electric, boosted by the festive Easter spirit. We saw families pedaling together, young riders pushing their limits, and the fantastic local cycling clubs of Nakuru turning out in full force, bringing their unique spirit to the event.
A special shout-out must go to the inspiring participation of Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) who joined us in Nakuru. Their determination and joy on the bikes were truly heartwarming, reinforcing our belief that cycling is for everyone and a declaration of what inclusive cycling should look like in Kenya.
The Urban Tours have been designed to bring a taste of the Hells Gate Biking Fest experience directly to major cities, making cycling accessible and enjoyable for everyone, while creating a powerful buzz for our grand finale. Each tour is designed to get people riding, connecting, and feeling the infectious spirit of the Hell’s Gate Biking Fest long before August.
The momentum is building to a crescendo, and our next destination is the capital itself! Mark your calendars, Nairobi! We’re bringing the Nairobi City Bike Fest to you on June 22nd, 2025. We’re expecting an even larger turnout, with an anticipated 1000+ participants ready to conquer the city on two wheels. This will be another incredible opportunity to explore Nairobi from a unique perspective, ride with fellow enthusiasts, and be part of something truly special.
Every pedal stroke in Eldoret, every shared laugh in Nakuru, and every mile we’re about to cover in Nairobi is building up towards the ultimate cycling adventure: the Hells Gate Biking Fest main event on August 30th & 31st, 2025, at Hell’s Gate National Park in Naivasha, Kenya. This will be the ultimate celebration of cycling, adventure, music, wellness, and friendship, where all the urban tour energy will come to life in the wild among the majestic landscape of one of Kenya’s most unique parks. We’re meticulously planning a grand spectacle for you.
So, get your bikes ready, spread the word, and prepare to be part of Kenya’s premier cycling event. We can’t wait to see you on the Nairobi trails, and then, truly unleash the adventure at Hell’s Gate!
